My name is David and I am fundraising for my brother Eric Herrera.

My brother was a victim of a hit and run Thursday the 27th in Valparaiso, IN. The SUV that ran over him while he was on his motorcycle was running from another accident. This person drove into and over Eric and Eric was taken by helicopter to the nearest trauma center in the Chicago-land Area. Eric is undergoing multiple surgeries for his pelvis since it was shattered as the SUV went over him. He also suffered broken/fractured ribs, broken/fractured legs, broken/fractured scapula, broken/fractured arm, internal bleeding in his chest/lungs, internal bleeding in pelvis area and the injuries go on. Eric was lucky enough to not have any serious injuries in his head/brain or his spine. He is lucky to be alive.

Eric Herrera is a young 28 year old entrepreneur who while attending Valparaiso University saw an opportunity and started a food truck, graduated and opened Chunky's restaurant in Valparaiso, IN.

My brother Eric is one of the kindest humans in this world. He is a self taught musician, a writer, a brother of Sigma Chi, he used to volunteer his time to the Association of Horizon, he is a son, a brother, a cousin, an uncle, a friend.

He did not deserve this and now he has a long recovery in front of him. Our family is asking for help in order to help Eric with all his medical expenses and his rehabilitation.
