Yesterday afternoon, 4/8/26, our dear friend Eric Odenthal (EO) lost everything in a devastating house fire. In a matter of moments, Eric didn’t just lose his home and all of his belongings built over the past 10 years—he also lost his beloved dog, his constant companion and best friend. The grief and shock from this loss are unimaginable.
Eric is one of the kindest, most genuine people you could ever meet. He’s the owner of a Moab guide service, and through his work, he brings adventure, joy, and connection to so many people. His guiding equipment wasn’t just gear—it was his livelihood. Tragically, all of it was lost in the fire.
Right now, Eric is facing the overwhelming reality of starting over from nothing: no home, no personal belongings, and no tools to continue the work he loves. If you know Eric, you know how much light, generosity, and positivity he brings into the world. He is always the first to show up for others—now it’s our turn to show up for him.
We are raising funds to help Eric begin to rebuild his life - Any amount helps, and if you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean the world. Let’s rally around Eric and remind him that he’s not alone in this.
