Help Eric During His Recovery!
Donation protected
Hey everyone! My name is Cary. I am a good friend of Eric Harrison's, and I'd like to share a bit about his story and the tragic situation he has been put in over the past month and a half.
First, let's start with some history...
A LIFE ALTERING ACCIDENT PART 1:
In July of 2017, Eric was involved in a car accident that would change his life forever. At no fault of his own, he was left with a neck injury that has led to years of chronic pain, countless doctors visits, and surgical procedures that would ultimately fail to provide relief.
This past year, after a successful trial period for a nerve stimulating device, Eric was hopeful that he had finally found a solution to relieve him from his pain.
A LIFE ALTERING ACCIDENT PART 2:
Eric was set to undergo surgery for a permanent implant. We would jokingly refer to this surgery as the start of "The Return of the Bird," but mostly, we were just happy that he would be able to live a pain-free life again.
Unfortunately, no one expected what was about to happen next.
Due to insurance issues, Eric was forced to see a doctor who was not familiar with his injury history and the past procedures he had done. This led to tragic complications during the surgery, leaving Eric with minimal to no mobility in his limbs and effectively paralyzing him.
A LONG ROAD TO RECOVERY...
Eric has been in the hospital since February 3rd and was recently moved to Magee Rehabilitation Hospital to begin his long road to recovery. This entire process has been extremely taxing both physically and mentally. Still, Eric has battled through thus far with a positive attitude and the determination to get back to his old self.
I've watched friends and family rally behind Eric and his mom to support them in these difficult times, and I'm asking for your support once again.
I'm creating this GoFundMe to ease the financial burden that comes with an extended hospital stay and time out of work.
Let's make sure Eric can focus on his recovery and not how he's going to afford next month's mortgage payment...
