Hi friends, family, and kind strangers,
As many of you know, I live with many health issues, including diabetes. While I do everything I can to manage it, my blood sugar can drop or spike suddenly and without warning. These moments can be scary, and they put my safety at risk—especially when I’m alone or asleep.
After a lot of research, I applied for a service dog to help me with my diabetes. I have recently been approved to receive a dog, and miraculously, I’ve immediately been matched with a diabetes alert service dog. The cost of the service dog has been graciously donated for me.
This amazing dog will be trained to sense changes in my blood sugar through scent and alert me before things get dangerous. Having this partner by my side will give me more independence, peace of mind, and—most importantly—an extra layer of safety.
The next step in this journey is for Jessica and I to travel to Little Angels Service Dogs ranch in New Hampshire to meet and train for about 2 weeks and bring my dog home. This trip will involve gas, hotel stays, food, and other travel expenses, and unfortunately, these costs add up quickly on top of what’s already gone into making this dream a reality. Jessica will also have to train with the dog and learn to be the dog’s handler for when I am sick or in the hospital. I will also use some money to get supplies for the dog to get started at our home.
That’s why I’m asking for your support. Every donation will go directly toward covering the travel expenses so I can finally bring home my service dog and start this new chapter. Even the smallest contribution makes a difference, and if you’re not able to give, simply sharing my story means so much.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me take this step. With your support, I’ll soon have my life-saving companion by my side.
With love and gratitude,
Eric and Jessica
