My name is Sergio Alvarez, I am creating this on behalf of my father Erasmo Alvarez . He hurt his back 5 years ago and has not been able to receive the treatment that he needs. My father has been seeing a doctor for the past couple of years under a free medical plan the Parkland Hospital of Dallas provided for him. During every visit my father returns home with more and more pills. At first it was 2 every couple hours, but now he is been told to take over ten . The amount of pills is hurting my father . He now has problems walking and his right hand won’t stop shaking unless he is under the dose which only last 2-3 hours. If he eats a regular meal like lunch or dinner and takes the pills the dose doesn’t have any effect on his body . Because of this my father does not eat . He prefers to be able to walk and have regular functions for a couple hours even if it means not eating . My father has gone from 220 lbs to just under 180. During his last visit with his doctor I mentioned the above and he told me the surgery needed was over $100,000. We don’t have the funds and his current plan does not cover anything besides those pills that are slowly killing him. My father is only 58 please help me save him .
