My mom, Teresa, has spent her life caring for others. Known to many as "Mother Teresa," she worked as a nurse for 50 years across India, Germany, and the US, dedicating herself to helping people from all walks of life. She specialized in caring for the sickest babies in the NICU, even joining the transport team to bring critically ill infants from rural areas to her hospital for the best possible care. After retiring, she became my father's primary caregiver following his heart attack and stroke, continuing her lifelong commitment to supporting the most vulnerable.
In December last year, my mom suddenly suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm with internal bleeding. She spent nearly three months in the hospital, followed by another three months in intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and now medical bills are piling up from her hospital stay, rehabilitation, medical equipment, medications, and ongoing specialist visits. Throughout it all, Teresa has asked for nothing but peace. I know that the financial burden is weighing on her, and I want to help lift that stress so she can focus on healing.
I am organizing this fundraiser to cover my mom’s medical expenses and give her the relief she deserves. The outpouring of emotional support from friends and our community during her hospitalization meant the world to me. Now, I hope to surprise her on her birthday in August by showing her that her medical debts have been relieved—not by the government, but by the kindness and generosity of our community. Thank you for any support you can give. Your help will bring peace and hope to someone who has given so much to others. In deep gratitude, Dave.
