Help Eradicate Invasive Plants in Kenilworth
Donation protected
Invasive plants are decimating the natural landscapes of our beautiful neighborhood of Kenilworth. They:
- Reduce food & shelter: killing native plants and reducing the amount of food and shelter available to native animals.
- Change the soil water: Kudzu can impact the amount of water in the soil, which can damage the ecosystem.
- Reduce biodiversity: leading to species extinctions and a loss of overall biodiversity.
- Reduce natural beauty: invasive infestations can make an area less attractive, which can make it harder to enjoy outdoor activities.
The Kenilworth Conservation Collective is a subgroup of the Kenilworth Residents Association that has been formed to eradicate invasive species plants like kudzu, English ivy, multiflora rose, and many more.
Many backyards and open spaces are wastelands of kudzu, and beautiful trees are dying and dangerously falling because of non-native vines engulfing and killing them.
We desperately need funds to cover a 3-year plan that includes targeted herbicides (administered by environmental experts), kudzu crown digging, goats, and erosion control efforts.
Thank you so much for your donation!
