I’m reaching out on behalf of my uncle Michael, who is currently facing a tough time both medically and financially. Earlier this year, he was diagnosed with a serious heart condition that required open-heart surgery. While he’s now on the road to recovery, the journey has come with overwhelming expenses.

Unfortunately, my family is not in a position to support him financially right now, so I’ve created this GoFundMe to help cover his essential needs as he heals.

Help ER Nurse Michael Heal After Open-Heart Surgery

Hello, my name is Michael DiCapua, I’ve been in a medical field for over 15 years and as an ER nurse for 10 years, dedicated to helping others through some of the most challenging moments of their lives. Today, I find myself in a position I never imagined—reaching out for help myself.

In March, while working in California, I received a life-altering diagnosis that required open-heart surgery. I made the difficult decision to leave my job, drive myself across the country back home, and undergo surgery on June 19th. The operation was successful, but the road to recovery has been much harder than expected.

As someone who has always taken pride in being independent and self-sufficient, it has been incredibly humbling to face the reality of recovery. I live alone, and due to financial limitations, I had to give up my home and am currently staying with a family friend while I heal.

Doctors estimate I’ll need 4 to 6 months to fully recover before I can return to work. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts to prepare, the financial burden of being out of work for this extended period is more than I can bear on my own.

I’ve always given my heart to my patients—now, after literally having it repaired, I’m asking for your love and support to help get me through this difficult time. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward basic living expenses, medical bills, and ensuring I can focus on healing without the constant stress of financial instability.
