Help Equip Shamokin's Young Wrestlers

The Shamokin Elementary Wrestling Program is trying to raise money for our K-6 grade wrestlers. For the last 10 years, the Shamokin Area wrestling program has only had one mat room for the Elementary, Junior High, and High School teams to share. The number of wrestlers we had at each level were low so we were able to stagger practice timesin our High School Mat room. Over the last 3 years, the Elementary Program's Roster has tripled. Last year, we had 60 wrestlers but struggled because we had a mix of 1st-year kindergarten kids with 5th-year 6th graders. Ultimately, we ended up sacrificing the development of most of our wrestlers. This year, 2024/2025, we are projected to have approximately Eighty K-6th grade wrestlers. With the elementary program growing at this rate, we need to split our practices into novice and advanced groups. The Shamokin Area Athletic Director recently approved for us to use the old Annex Building, but the old mat room is a shell with no mats or equipment.

Our main goals:

Raise money for 2 lightweight wrestling mats that will cover approximately 2,600 sq/ft = $12,000 UPDATE: Dennis Dietrich, owner of Liberty Basement Systems/Shamokin Wrestling Alumni just bought us brand new Wrestling mats from Resilite. Our wrestling family is overwhelmed with gratitude to receive such an amazing donation for these kids! Thank you Dennis!

Purchase 80 sheets of 7/16 OSB to craete a sub-floor for the wrestling mats = $2,000 UPDATE: Knoebel Lumber donated the Lumber we need to make some renovations to the mat room. Thank you to Knoebel's General Manager Justin Dietrich for making this happen for us! Bluelinx also sold us a 75 piece unit of OSB at around their cost which was a little over $1,000

Cardio equipment (SkiErg, RowErg, Echo Bike, treadmill) = $5,000

We would also like to purchase strength and conditioning equipment thats needed specifically for wrestling:

Footwork trainer mats, Dopamino bands, Bulgarian bags, slam balls, plyo boxes, Suples rope pulleys, Suples Gladiator walls = $5,000

Shamokin wrestling is a storied progam with a rich history: over 700 Dual Meet wins and 19 state champions. Raising this money will position us to grow the entire Shamokin Wrestling Program through the Elementary program.
