Your country needs YOU to help protect our NHS and care staff in all settings, so that they can protect us during the Coronavirus crisis!
The Coronavirus has struck the UK in a matter of weeks and we are in desperate need for more medical supplies and tests to keep the NHS and social care staff safe, so they can continue to treat us in the months to come. Staff already report a lack of protective equipment and we have seen extreme medical supply shortages in Italy, a country who are already at their peak and it is predicted the UK will be at its peak in the coming weeks. Absolutely huge quantities will be needed to protect NHS front line staff including all those working in hospitals, the ambulance service, GP’s, social care workers, community care workers and others. European countries have grossly underestimated the numbers required and are now desperately hunting for more supplies. Every further piece of kit will protect patients and staff and save lives!
In Churchill’s words, “Give us the tools and we’ll do the job ourselves”. Raising £5 million together will provide much-needed medical equipment and tests to the NHS, including;
- Protecting staff: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Face Masks, Surgical Gowns, Aprons, Caps, Gloves, Goggles, Visors and Sanitiser Bottles
- Providing Care: Ventilators and CPAP machines
- Prevention: COVID-19 rapid antibody tests which give a result in 15 mins whether someone has already had the virus

We have secured prices and availability with a trusted European medical equipment distributor to purchase and deliver this high-quality, certified equipment to the UK by air. An expert group of senior clinicians and leaders will be advising regarding the numbers of each piece of equipment we will purchase and start to bring in every few days. Providing tests will allow staff, patients and public to understand if they have had the virus.
We need to act NOW and to act FAST!
I recognise these are very difficult times financially but ask you if you are able to spare something, to donate! Every single penny of this crowdfund (whether we don’t reach or surpass the £5 million figure) will go to the supply of medical equipment and tests to the UK, which will be urgently distributed. The only additional cost is the credit/debit card charge by GoFundMe for donating. When people donate larger sums, these costs are lower and will allow us to bring even more pieces of equipment.
I am an NHS doctor and clinical research fellow at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, who is seeing the serious need for protective equipment for health and care workers and patients, and how the lack of testing is leading to increasingly larger parts of the population having to isolate and put their lives on hold.
