07/26/2025: An IMPD officer was shot at close range resulting in extensive bleeding. Because he carried his Tourniquet from his Trauma Kit on his holster, his on-person video captured the officer retrieving the tourniquet and applying it to his wound.

This tourniquet saved the officers life but only because public donations made it possible to purchase Trauma Kits for the officers.

IMPD Officers take an oath to protect and serve. This office was doing both and could have died in the line of duty as a result. How better to show gratitude then to ensure they have this life-saving tool if/when needed.
