Hi, my name is Myles Person, and I’m raising funds to support my middle school video production program at KIPP DC Aim Academy.
I was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, and my life completely changed when I was introduced to video production in school. What started as a class project became a lifelong passion — one that helped me develop skills, earn opportunities, and ultimately attend Howard University. My camera has taken me all over the country, allowed me to work with national organizations like the NAACP, and opened doors I never thought possible as a young kid from an urban community.
Now, as a middle school video production teacher, I want to give my students the same life-changing opportunity I had. Many of my students come from communities where traditional career paths are often the only ones discussed, and exposure to creative, technical careers like filmmaking, photography, and media production is rare. I want them to know there’s a world beyond what they see every day — a world they can be a part of, create in, and even lead.
With your support, these funds will help purchase cameras, lighting equipment, microphones, editing software, and other essential tools to run a high-quality video production program. This isn’t just about making videos — it’s about teaching storytelling, teamwork, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. It’s about helping students discover passions that could shape their futures.
Your donation, no matter the size, will directly impact a student’s ability to create, dream, and succeed in ways they may have never imagined. Together, we can give them the resources, exposure, and confidence to explore untraditional career paths and see that their voice matters.
Thank you for believing in my students and in the power of creativity to change lives.
