Quilts have been a way for people to tell stories, build community, and connect with their families for generations. Help share the power of quilting by setting up a new quilting studio at the Ohio Reformatory for Women. I'm in the process of starting a new prison quilting program which will support students in making quilts to donate, sell, and gift to their loved ones, as well as use textiles to create art that tells their own stories. We hope to begin initial classes in March 2022.
Although I have already begun receiving generous textile and supply donations from local makers, there are some supplies and materials that will need to be purchased new. Your support will help provide basic sewing machines for the studio, as well as rulers and rotary cutters, cutting mats, batting, and other notions.
