Hello, my name is Eoin, and I’m reaching out during one of the most difficult times in my life.

I’m 42 years old and have been out of work since Early This year after struggling as far as I could,due to severe back and hip issues that make walking and functioning extremely painful and difficult. While I’m trying to manage my own health, I’m also the sole caregiver and emotional support for my wife, Karen, who is in full-time care due to advanced Huntington’s disease.

(Huntington’s disease is a rare, inherited condition that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain, affecting movement, cognition, and behavior. There is currently no cure.) But there is hope.

Karen lives a long drive away, and visiting her regularly — something I deeply value for both of us — has become increasingly hard both physically and financially. As Karen’s time is limited due to Huntington’s, every moment with her is incredibly precious. We have no children, and our savings are quickly depleting as we try to cover basic living expenses, travel costs, and medical needs.
