Dear Friends, Animal Lovers, and Kind-Hearted Souls,
My name is Nicole and I am the dog mom to the sweetest, cutest and wiggliest adventure dog named Enzo. I have started this go-fund-me in hopes that it will reach other dog lovers and as a plea from the depths of my heart. Enzo has been my rock, my source of endless love, laughter, adventures and cuddles. Now, he faces a debilitating spinal condition, and I am reaching out to you, the compassionate community, to help me give Enzo a fighting chance at regaining his mobility and living a pain-free life.
Enzo is not just a dog; he is my family. From the moment I brought him home, his pure joyous outlook on life and his unwavering determination has brought brightness to my days. Despite battling Cerebellar Hypoplasia, he never let that dampen his spirit. He has always powered through, spreading joy to everyone he encounters. Losing him and his wiggle to this spinal condition is simply unthinkable.
This new journey started last week with a heartbreaking yelp of pain. Enzo, in his usual playful manner, went to jump onto the bed after having breakfast and going outside, but this time, something went horribly wrong. His little cries echoed and he began to drag his legs behind him. We rushed him to the vet, hoping for a minor injury, but the situation quickly escalated. Our journey led us to a specialist at PennVet Emergency Hospital, where Enzo underwent extensive examinations and an MRI. The diagnosis: Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) and the urgent need for a left hemilaminectomy. (A full spinal surgery to remove loose disk material that was affecting his spinal column.)
The news was heartbreaking, but in the face of adversity, we find hope. The surgery offers a 90% chance of Enzo walking again because he still has feeling in his toes. We had to act fast and do the surgery immediately, but the financial burden is overwhelming. I am humbly asking for your support to raise the funds needed to pay for his surgery, post-operative care, physical rehabilitation, and ongoing medical management.
Enzo's recovery will require immense dedication and love. Six weeks of confinement, daily at-home exercises, medication, heat and ice therapy, and various therapies will be crucial to his healing process. Our home will undergo changes too, with ramps and accommodations to ensure Enzo's comfort and safety. It will be a long road, but I will never give up on him.
Your contribution, no matter how small, holds immeasurable power. With your support, we can give Enzo the opportunity to walk, run, wiggle, and play once again—a chance for him to experience the joy that has enriched my life, and my family and friends' lives in countless ways. Every donation brings us closer to our goal.
Please join our mission to save Enzo's mobility and restore his pain-free future. Donate today and share our GoFundMe campaign with your friends, family, and fellow animal lovers. Let's show Enzo the strength of community, the power of compassion, and the unwavering love we have for our furry family members.
Thank you, from the depths of my heart, for your kindness, support, and belief in Enzo's journey. Together, we can make miracles happen. And if you want to follow Enzo's recovery journey or learn more we will be trying to post regularly to Instagram @enzo_theminiaussie
