Our Dearest Family and Friends,

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share some incredibly difficult news about our beloved mother, Mona. Just a few weeks ago, after she began experiencing shortness of breath and other concerning symptoms, we received a diagnosis that has shaken our world to its core: Metastatic Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma (mPDAC), an aggressive form of cancer.

For those unfamiliar, mPDAC is a disease with a sadly low survival rate. Statistics show that only a small percentage of individuals diagnosed at this advanced stage live beyond a few months. This reality has been an absolute shock to Teya, myself, and the rest of our family. Mona is only 63 years young, and the intensity of the prognosis has left us all completely distraught and still trying to process this devastating news.

Mom is currently in the Hospital in Minnesota, where she has been receiving care. Our immediate and most heartfelt goal is to transition her as soon as possible to hospice care, where she can be surrounded by our love and receive the comfort, peace, and dignity she so deserves during this incredibly challenging time. We want to ensure her remaining days are filled with as much tranquility and as little discomfort as possible.

This unexpected and heartbreaking journey brings with it significant additional medical expenses, and we are reaching out to our incredible community of family and friends for support. We have set a fundraising goal to help cover these costs, ensuring Mona's comfort and care during her transition and beyond.

We understand that you may have many questions, but at this time, we are still navigating this incredibly raw and painful reality and would gently prefer not to be asked for too many details as we focus on Mona.
