This is my dad, Joe. He is 79 years old. My father’s health has been declining rapidly. He told his doctor that he is tired of going to the doctors and specialists twice a week, or going in and out of the hospitals. They can’t seem to find out what is wrong with him. His doctor sent some people to talk to us, and he has decided to go on hospice. He needs professional 24-hour care, but they told me that they got rid of so many programs for the elderly that Medicare used to cover under hospice. Our family doesn’t have that kind of money. Putting him in a facility is not an option for us. The last few facilities he was at did not take care of him. They would leave him soiled in his bed for hours. They would not clean him up until I got there, and I went twice a day. They wouldn’t give him his medication or feed him in a timely manner. It was horrific seeing him being treated this way. We don’t know how long he has with us, as only God knows the time or hour, but we would like to make his last moments on this earth a little more pleasant. If you could please find it in your heart to help our family by donating so that we can pay out of pocket to get him the nursing care that he needs.
1 Timothy 5:8
8 But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
Hebrews 13:16
16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
