Help Enrique Hernandez Stay Afloat During a Tough Time!

Enrique "Poot" Hernandez is a sweetheart, goofball, friend to cats and dogs everywhere, talented lab manager and food scientist extraordinaire, esteemed DJ and noise musician, and generally just the sort of magical person we all benefit from having in our lives.

Through no fault of their own, Enrique has recently had a string of bad luck in job stability and is now unexpectedly furloughed from their primary source of income. SF city living isn't cheap, and despite having a modest lifestyle, Enrique is now facing the prospect of not being able to make ends meet this month. They're currently scrounging up money for rent, as well as figuring out how to keep food on the table while they figure out their next steps for employment.

Anyone who knows Enrique also knows how often they've gone to the mat for community in supporting causes and individuals that are dear to them. I'm now putting in a similar bid on Enrique's behalf that any incentivized community members who've been supported by this lovable being consider passing the hat around for them.

The immediate goal of this gofundme is providing any monetary relief that will help them get through the month of August; anything on top of that that's raised is just gravy, though, and will go a long way to preventing further upheaval for them during an already challenging time.

Enrique also wishes to say that they're open to any job leads in the lab management/food science/gig (e.g. dog watching, pet sitting) arenas, and that they're a skilled artist and musician who is willing to do commission for work.* (They actually didn't say that last part, but I'm saying it on their behalf because it's true.)
