Hi everyone, my name is Kasia and I'm helping organize this campaign with Mahran. Below, you'll find details about Mahran's family, the cost breakdown for basic living necessities, and his story written in his own words. Thank you for your support ❤️‍

Who this campaign is for
Mahran's family consists of 7 people:
  • Mahran. 26 years old and recent graduate from Al-Azhar University (now destroyed) with a degree in mechatronic engineering. Before the war, he worked as an accountant at Rosemary's Restaurant (now destroyed).
  • Khaled. 59 years old, father of the family and employee in the Supreme Judicial Council. He seeks to provide security and a good future for his family.
  • Rasha. 52 years old, mother of the family and an Arabic language teacher for 28 years.
  • Adam. 20 years old, Mahran's brother who studied in the department of physiotherapy at Al-Azhar University (now destroyed). He hopes to complete his education safely and become a doctor.
  • Mohammed. 14 years old, Mahran's brother who studied English at the Peace Center (now destroyed). He wants to complete his studies and achieve his dream of becoming a doctor.
  • Aseel. 28 years old, Mahran's sister and mother of one. She graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Al-Quds Open University. Before the war, she worked as an administrative assistant at Majed Al-Ajla Company (now destroyed). She dreams of working in a safe country and providing a good life for her daughter.
  • Sidra (Aseel's daughter). 3 years old, Mahran's niece. She is deprived of her childhood because of the genocide on Gaza. She does not feel safe and continues to cry and scream at the sounds of war.

Mahran's story
"Hi, I am Mahran from Gaza. I am 25 years old and I work as a mechatronics engineer. Like many young people, I had dreams and ambitions, full of hope and confidence that one day I would achieve everything I wanted. That was just a year ago. But then this brutal war started, shattering our dreams. It destroyed everything we hoped for—our ambitions and our hopes in life. It took away our friends, our health, and our homes.

My house was severely damaged after the surrounding area was bombed with fire belts, which burned the entire house and destroyed everything in it, including furniture, personal belongings, and even memories. We were forced to leave, displaced from our home, living in tents and facing unimaginable hardships.

When I graduated from engineering school, I was full of energy and optimism. I believed that life was full of opportunities. But unemployment quickly became a constant challenge. I searched tirelessly, interned, volunteered, and visited every company in Gaza as an intern, but no job opportunities came my way. I was offered opportunities to emigrate and leave Gaza, but I always said: “My country, even if it is difficult for me, is dear to me.” I held on in the hope of a better future.

In the end, I found a job outside my field of study without any guarantees. I worked as a restaurant accountant and began to earn my living, enjoying the small moments of life—meeting friends, visiting the beautiful places in Gaza, places that have now been destroyed and decimated by the war. Gaza is a beautiful place, but all that beauty has been erased.

When the war broke out, I lost everything—my job, my home, my sense of security, my friends, and the restaurant where I worked. I was left with nothing but despair, watching everything I worked for disappear.

Yet, despite everything, we continue to fight to get back to what we once were. Despite the harshness of life and the many challenges we face, we cling to the hope that one day we will be able to rebuild. We will rise again, we will survive, we will start over.

We have been displaced eight times inside the Gaza Strip in search of a safe place, but to no avail. Safety no longer exists anywhere. Diseases have spread, prices have risen, hospitals have been exhausted, and there is no treatment. In short, we are being destroyed in this Strip, and every day we wake up hoping to survive and live with dignity.

That is why I am reaching out now and asking for your support. Whether through financial contributions, prayers, or any help you can offer, it will make a difference. I greatly appreciate your efforts and kindness. Our prayers are with you always.
