Help Endow the Mathew Sheehan Memorial Scholarship
Donation protected
This is our oldest son, Mathew. He was born with a rare genetic disorder known as Loeys- Dietz Syndrome. https://www.loeysdietz.org/
He boldly faced many challenges in his lifetime, including having both feet amputated, 4 aortic dissections/heart surgeries and 35+ other surgeries and procedures. However, despite everything, Mathew dreamed of attending Montgomery Community College (NC).
Sadly, he lost his battle with Loeys-Dietz in December of 2022 before he could realize that dream.
In 2023, with the help of family and friends, we raised funds and signed the paperwork to establish the Mathew C. Sheehan Memorial Gunsmithing Scholarship at MCC. Those funds made it possible for 2 Disabled and/or Military Veteran students to receive scholarships for the 2024 school year.
This year, our Goal is to raise the money needed so that Mathew's Scholarship is "endowed" and we won't need to fundraise for the scholarship going forward. An endowed scholarship is funded from the interest accumulated from the donation’s interest/earnings and it will provide a lasting legacy of ongoing support for MCC Gunsmithing students.
Any help or support that you can offer toward this goal would be greatly appreciated.
With sincere thanks,
The Sheehan Family
