Justice for Ochanya: Help Protect Nigeria’s Children
In 2018, the world lost 13-year-old Ochanya Elizabeth Ogbanje. A bright, loving girl from Benue State, Nigeria. Whose life was marked by unimaginable pain and injustice. Entrusted to relatives for care, she endured severe abuse that caused lasting harm and ultimately took her life.
Despite strong evidence and widespread public outcry, justice for Ochanya remains unfinished. The outcome of her case has left many heartbroken and questioning how a system meant to protect children could fail them so deeply. Her story represents not only one child’s tragedy but a much larger issue; the urgent need for reform, accountability, and protection for vulnerable children across Nigeria.
This GoFundMe campaign is created to support renewed advocacy for Ochanya’s case and to drive systemic change so that no child has to experience what she did.
Your donations will help fund:
• Legal advocacy efforts focused on exploring the reopening of Ochanya’s case
• Public awareness campaigns promoting child protection and justice reform
• Community outreach programs that educate families about children’s rights and safety
• Partnerships with legal and human rights organizations dedicated to ending abuse and empowering survivors
Ochanya’s story must not be forgotten. Her life calls us to act, to build a future where every Nigerian child grows up safe, heard, and protected.
Let’s honor Ochanya by turning heartbreak into hope.
✊ Donate today to help fight for justice and build a safer tomorrow for Nigeria’s children.
