Support Kevin Hamilton - Monterey County EMT Hero Fighting Cancer
Help us support Kevin Hamilton, a dedicated first responder who had spent 20 years serving our Monterey County community as an EMT and EMT Field Training Officer.
For two decades, Kevin was there for countless families during their most difficult moments, providing life-saving care and compassion when it mattered most. As an EMT Field Training Officer, he also helped train the next generation of first responders, sharing his expertise and dedication to helping others.
Kevin's Battle
In May, Kevin received devastating news: he was diagnosed with both bladder and prostate cancer. The prostate cancer is particularly aggressive—Stage IV, Gleason 9—and has spread to surrounding lymph nodes. Kevin has begun an intensive treatment regimen that includes:
-Daily oral hormone blockers
-Monthly injections
-Upcoming radiation treatments at the Mayo Clinic near Phoenix this Fall
The bladder tumor was successfully removed, and Kevin is currently undergoing in-office BCG treatments. While these treatments are progressing well, he will need repeated scans over the next five years to monitor his condition.
The Road Ahead
Kevin's medical team anticipates a minimum of two years of daily treatment, with continued monthly injections and repeated scans for at least five years. The financial burden of this extended treatment plan, combined with the expenses for specialized care at Mayo Clinic, creates significant challenges for Kevin and his family.
Despite everything he's facing, Kevin remains in good spirits and is looking forward to the start of the new school year, starting in the Fall, where he drives a school bus now; still showing the same dedication to serving his community that he's always shown.
How You Can Help
Kevin has spent his 20 year career helping others in their time of need. Now it's our turn to help him. Your donation will help cover:
-Medical expenses and treatment costs
-Daily living expenses during extended treatment period
-Follow-up care and monitoring over the next five years
No amount is too small. Every dollar makes a difference in Kevin's fight against cancer and helps ensure he can focus on healing rather than worrying about financial stress.
Kevin was there for the Monterey County community for 20 years... Let's be there for him now.
Thank you for your support, prayers, and generosity during this challenging time.
