Wahdah Project is partnering with Ubad Gargaar Special Needs Center in Hargeisa, Somalia, to provide mobility devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, and adaptive therapy tools for children with physical and developmental disabilities. Founded in 2019, Ubad Gargaar has become a trusted center of care for children with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down Syndrome, and other developmental challenges. The organization works to uplift both the children and their families through education, therapy, and holistic care. As Ubad Gargaar continues to grow, the need for proper mobility equipment remains urgent.
Somalia is currently facing one of the world’s most severe food insecurity crises, with over 6.5 million people experiencing crisis levels of hunger. According to United Nations reports, 1.84 million children are projected to suffer from acute malnutrition in 2026. Many of the children supported by Ubad Gargaar are also orphans, making their circumstances even more vulnerable. Providing mobility devices and therapy support helps remove one barrier from their daily lives, allowing them to move more freely and access care and education.
Through this campaign, Wahdah Project aims to raise funds to provide mobility devices that will allow these children to attend school, participate in their communities, and experience the joy of movement with confidence and dignity.
