Help Emmy with healthcare and immediate job-related needs
I could use some help with healthcare costs and a few immediate needs related to my transition.
I lost my job in August and then two weeks ago had unexpected emergency surgery without health insurance. I have my follow-up with the surgeon this week and I’ve been paying out of pocket for prescriptions, including my ongoing transition care. Unemployment helps with the bills, but I’m struggling to cover these expenses too.
There’s also the hair situation. Anyone who knew me before 2026 probably knows this hair didn’t grow out of my head. I wear a synthetic wig every day, and it’s wearing out. The lace is fraying and now the cap has torn. It’s something I need for everyday life, especially as I’m looking for work and hopefully heading into interviews.
I also need a few professional-looking winter clothes items that fit after the changes in my body and significant weight loss.
I’m asking friends and my communities for help covering current medical needs, replacing my hair, and getting a few basics for winter. These are the expenses I’m having trouble making room in our tight budget for while I recover and look for work.
If you’re able to contribute, I’d really appreciate it. Sharing with someone who might want to help is welcome too.
Gratefully,
Emmy
