Sweet Emmy Needs Our Help
We received a call about a tiny Pomeranian puppy in desperate need of rescue. Emmy was only 5 weeks old and weighed just 4 ounces — no bigger than a little bird.
When her eyes opened, it became obvious something was terribly wrong. Her eyes were abnormally large and cloudy, and she was not thriving. Once in foster care, Emmy was lovingly fed every 2 hours, and little by little, she began to gain weight. We had hope.
An appointment with a veterinary ophthalmologist brought devastating news. Emmy is completely blind. She has been diagnosed with anterior chamber collapse syndrome, along with glaucoma and cataracts. Her eyelids cannot fully close over her eyes, leaving her in constant discomfort.
The only way for Emmy to live a happy, pain-free life is to have her left eye removed immediately and possibly the right eye in the near future. The cost of the surgery for the left eye is $3,200. This includes pre- and post-op care as well as follow-up visits.
Despite her challenges, Emmy is full of life and love. She has a big personality in her tiny body. She’s always ready for an adventure, delights in new smells and toys, and most of all, adores cuddles and kisses.
We are asking for your help to give Emmy the chance at the pain-free, joy-filled life she deserves. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference.
Please donate today to help Emmy on her journey to healing.
