On September 10th, Emmy was involved in a serious motorcycle accident that turned her world upside down. While she was enjoying a beautiful day for a ride—something she has done many times before—someone turned in front of her. She was unable to avoid the collision and was thrown from her bike, suffering severe injuries.

Emmy was taken to the hospital, where she was admitted for a week, for multiple surgeries and care. She was discharged home on September 17th. Her injuries are extensive and include both arms broken, a pelvic fracture, a C-spine fracture, and multiple facial injuries that resulted in the loss of and damage to several teeth. She will require more surgeries in the future, and her recovery will be a long process involving ongoing physical therapy. The facial fractures must heal before any dental work can be done, so her treatment will span a significant period. Because of the extent of her injuries, Emmy will be out of work for some time. As the medical bills begin to pile up, the financial stress is a heavy burden on her during this already difficult time.

We are creating this GoFundMe to help ease that burden and allow Emmy to focus all her energy on healing.
