✨ Help Emmy Iannia Walk Through Her Childhood Without Pain by supporting her life altering Leg Lengthening Surgery✨

Emmy is as pure as sunshine. She is bright, funny, spirited, and determined in a way that takes your breath away. What most people don’t see—because she hides it so well—is just how hard she works every single day to simply move through the world.

Emmy was born with a rare orthopedic condition called Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency (PFFD). It affects her right femur and has caused her leg to be 20% shorter than her left. On the outside, she looks like a joyful, active little girl. But underneath that smile is a body that has been working overtime for seven years to keep up.

She walks with a 2.5 inch (6 cm) shoe lift that helps, but it isn’t enough anymore. Her legs now differ by nearly 4 inches (10 cm), and the strain is catching up with her. After long days, she sometimes can hardly walk. At home, she’s begun to experience back and hip pain—the kind no child should ever have to feel.

Still, she pushes through it with quiet bravery, never wanting to be seen as “different.” That strength is why this next chapter is so important.

The Road Ahead: A Life-Changing Surgery

Emmy has been under the care of Dr. Standard, one of the leading pediatric limb-lengthening surgeons in the world. He recently moved his practice from Baltimore to Orlando, where Emmy will receive treatment.

To correct the projected 5.5 Inch (13.5 cm)difference she’ll face by adulthood, her medical team recommends a series of two internal leg-lengthening surgeries - one now, at age 7–8, and another in early adolescence. Each surgery will add 2-3 inches 5–6 cm of growth and give her the best chance at a pain-free, independent future.

On January 19th Emmy will have her first leg-lengthening surgery.

This is an incredibly complex process. After surgery, Emmy must stay in Orlando for about 12 weeks for daily, intensive physical therapy. During that time, she will be non-weight-bearing, in a wheelchair, and completely dependent on her mother Lauren for mobility and care. After she returns home, she’ll transition to a walker for several months and continue therapy for up to 6 months before she can be fully weight-bearing again.

It’s a long, emotional road ahead - but one filled with hope.

Why Emmy and Lauren Iannia Need Your Help:

Relocating to Orlando for medical care for nearly three months is overwhelming - physically, emotionally, and financially. Between housing near the hospital, transportation, medical expenses, lost work time, and the support Emmy will need during recovery, the costs quickly become more than a single parent can manage alone. Laurens out of Pocket expenses are projected to be in excess of 30 thousand dollars.

Asking for help is not easy. But giving Emmy the chance to walk, run, play, and grow without pain is worth every ounce of vulnerability.

You Can Be Part of Emmy’s Story

Every donation - no matter the amount - brings Lauren one step closer to giving Emmy the childhood she deserves: one where movement isn’t something to fight through, but something to enjoy.

Your support will help pay for:

Temporary housing in Orlando for 12+ weeks
Travel and transportation
Essential medical and therapy costs not fully covered by insurance
The cost to make her home in west Caldwell Handicap Accessible when she returns back from surgery
Equipment she will need while non-weight-bearing (wheelchair, walker, etc.)
Laurens lost income during her recovery period
More than anything, your generosity will help lighten the weight on a little girl who has carried far too much for far too long.

Emmy is brave, resilient, and full of life—and with your help, this surgery will open the door to an entirely new future for her.

Thank you for helping Emmy take her next big step - literally.
