My Emmy has been my best friend, my family, and my source of comfort for over 10 years. Emmy Trujillo is my beloved dog, and she has been by my side through some of the hardest moments of my life. Recently, she began having trouble with her mobility and started showing signs of pain and limping. After a visit to the vet, we learned that Emmy has a heart murmur and now needs more testing before we can move forward safely. Her veterinarian referred us to a specialist for a cardiology evaluation, including an echocardiogram, as well as orthopedic imaging to better understand what is causing her discomfort. There is also concern about a possible CCL injury, and we need answers so we can determine the best treatment plan for her.

This is happening during an especially difficult time for me, as I am recovering from a serious foot injury and using a wheelchair. Even so, I want to do everything I can for Emmy, because she has always been there for me and now she needs me to be there for her. Funds from this fundraiser will help cover her veterinary care, including the cardiology consultation, diagnostic imaging such as hip and leg x-rays under sedation, and any treatment or surgery recommended based on the results. If surgery is needed, I want to be able to give Emmy the best chance to heal and return to her happy, active self.

I am asking for help for the dog who has given me so much unconditional love. Any support, whether through a donation, sharing Emmy’s story, or keeping her in your prayers, would mean more to us than I can express. My hope is that we can both heal and one day walk and run side by side again.
