Hi, my name is Emmma.

I was diagnosed a couple of years ago with Type 1 Diabetes and, ever since then, I have been hoping to get a service dog to assist me in the management of this condition. It's become increasingly apparent that if I want to get a service dog sooner rather than later, I will need to appeal to the help and generosity of strangers. So here I am, raising money to purchase a dog and to pay for training the pooch to be a Diabetic Alert Dog.

Having a DAD would allow me to live my life more fully while feeling safe with the knowledge that if something were to happen to me, my dog-partner would be able to get help from someone nearby. In addition to keeping me safe in the day-to-day, having a DAD would allow me to pursue my long-time dream of becoming a birth support person and advocate in my community by keeping watch on me in the background while I go about the business of helping people birth their babies.
