Help Emmitt Fight Cancer
On March 17th, Emmitt and I went for his routine vet visit to get his annual shots. Before that, I noticed a small bump on his inner leg that didn’t seem right. The vet checked it and told us to keep an eye on it.
Just a few days later, Emmitt suddenly became very lethargic. He stopped eating, drinking, playing—he barely moved and was throwing up multiple times a day. We went back to the vet on March 21st. They did X-rays but only found gas, so we were sent home with meds. He seemed better for a little while, but then the vomiting came back.
By April 10th, it was clear something more serious was going on. He was throwing up daily, struggling to poop, and had noticeable swelling near the bump and his lower stomach. On April 11th, after a long vet visit, they diagnosed the bump as a Mast Cell Tumor—a type of cancer. The sample has been sent to a specialist to learn more about the tumor and how aggressive it is.
Then on April 12th, Emmitt couldn’t pee or poop, so we rushed to the emergency vet, fearing a blockage. They did some x-rays, blood work and inserted a catheter to release the pee. They want to refer him to a specialist to figure out exactly what’s going on. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster, and incredibly difficult to watch my sweet boy go through this.
I’ve had Emmitt since he was a baby. He’s my best friend, my family—and I want to do everything I can to help him live a comfortable and happy life for as long as possible. Right now, that means more vet visits, medications, possible surgery, and ongoing treatment.
Unfortunately, the costs are adding up quickly, and it’s more than I can manage on my own.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it would mean the world. All funds will go directly toward Emmitt’s care—vet bills, medications, diagnostics, and whatever treatment he needs next.
Thank you for reading, supporting, and loving Emmitt with me.
