Help Emmett Pay for Emergency Surgery

**Updated to reflect ongoing medical complications and adjusted cost!

Most of us know Emmett as a great friend, dedicated community member, honorary uncle to many, and fierce advocate for all transgender Texans. Emmett's there for us whether we need someone to educate our workplaces about trans issues, an update on the legislature's attempts to harm our communities, leadership advice for BIPOC trans activists, or a friend to talk to when we aren't feeling supported. 

Now it's our turn to support Emmett! 

Emmett just underwent multiple emergency surgeries after nearly going into septic shock from infected surgical incisions. He is recovering well, but as you can imagine, emergency surgery is not affordable- definitely not for someone running a small, BIPOC trans-led nonprofit. So this is our time to come together as a community, pool our resources, and help Emmett pay for the healthcare that saved his life!  

At this point, the projected cost of the emergency surgeries will be at least $80,000, so we've adjusted the original goal to reflect this. If you'd prefer to donate directly to Emmett and his family instead of through GoFundMe, you can use either of the following methods below:
