Help Emmanuel's Family

Donation protected

David Trott, Todd and Jacquie Tinsley, and Barrett Krueger have created this account on behalf of Emmanuel and his family.

Sunday, August 30th the Konneh family, as well as CHS Spider Nation lost one of its brightest lights. In a unfortunate fluke accident, Emmanuel Konneh drowned while swimming with several of his teammates. Emmanuel leaves behind his parents and four year old brother, as well as a host of friends, teammates, teachers, and coaches who loved him dearly.

Emmanuel and his family immigrated to Concord from Liberia in 2018, hoping to offer their boysabundant new opportunities. Emmanuel immediately made his mark in the halls of CHS and began his journey in earnest.

Emmanuel graduated in June from Concord High School, where he was a leader on both the varsity soccer and basketball teams. He was the starting goalie that helped lead the CHS Spider soccer team to the state final four last year, but more importantly he was the smile that helped boost his Spider brothers’ spirit on the field and court, no matter the situation.

At home Emmanuel was a role model for his baby brother, whom he made a point to spend time with every day, even after he moved to Winston-Salem to attend school and play soccer at Carolina University.

Emmanuel’s dream was cut tragically short on Sunday, when that beautiful smile and caring soul was taken from so many lives. To honor his short, yet impactful life, we would like to help the Konneh family provide the funeral Emmanuel deserves. As recent immigrants to this country, they are not in a position to afford the exorbitant cost of a funeral and burial, so please help us honor Emmanuel and his family with a donation of any size, or just a share of this link. We are eternally grateful.

As Emmanuel’s soccer and basketball coaches and members of the Concord, NC community, we are collecting these funds on behalf of the Konneh family. Our primary goal is to use the funds to pay for all of the expenses of a funeral and burial for Emmanuel. Funds that remain after that cost will be used to help with the expense of Emmanuel’s mother traveling here from Liberia, a trust for his brother’s education, and possibly a CHS scholarship fund to be distributed yearly in Emmanuel’s name. We are in constant contact with the Konneh family to ensure the funds are dispersed to meet all of these needs.
