Hi friends, my name is Emma. I'm a trans woman living in Texas suffering from severe PTSD that has upended my life and cost me two jobs at this point. My family cut me off last year and I've had no contact or support from them whatsoever while dealing with financial crisis after financial crisis. I've been getting by with support from some amazing friends but I really need a way to put money away to buy a car. I'm in a suburb of Dallas and Texas has everything spread out incredibly far and with nothing resembling a public transit system, my options for finding work and just taking care of errands and living life outside of my home at all have been severely limited.

I urge you to make sure you are taking care of yourself before you consider giving me any support. You cannot pour from an empty cup. I wanted to use this fundraiser to move cross country to a city I wouldn't need a car but I'm learning that that's just not the order I'm going to be able to take care of things in. I'm heartbroken but ultimately willing to stay in Texas for another year or so while I repair my credit and hopefully gain an income to save with. It can take the rest of my life to move out of this state and it will still be worth it.

I'm intending to buy a used car outright so I don't have to worry about a monthly payment and to sidestep my credit score. All of the remainder of these campaign funds will go into my savings account for finding a car but I still have plenty of other regular monthly expenses while I continue looking for work.

Please help if you're able, and please do not feel bad or apologize if you're "unable to give more" or anything like that. I've been in crisis for years now but every penny still means the world to me. Please take care of yourselves and give to others if you're able too.
