Emma Carson is graduating from Arizona State University in May 2021, and will be teaching 3rd grade at Holmes Elementary, a Title 1 school primarily serving low-income students in Mesa, Arizona.   From her experience as a camp counsellor (where she was a camper favorite) to her many opportunities to volunteer with children, Emma has shown she has the patience, love, and warmth to engage with children and impact their lives.

Emma did her student teaching at Holmes, and along with two other student teachers was in charge of a 6th grade class this year.  She fell in love with the children and the school, and was hired to teach 3rd grade in the coming year.

New teachers easily spend $1,000 to $2,000 or more in personal funds to get their classrooms initially set up.  Given that the students and their families at this school will have few resources to contribute,  we would like to invite others to help Emma make her classroom a place of hospitality and learning.
