Help Emma Secure Food & Shelter

Hello,

I am making this at the request of kind strangers who want to help me out in my time of need.

My name is Emma. I'm disabled and living with a few different conditions (cervical instability, spinal stenosis, bone spurs, ehlers-danlos) that result in that diagnosis. After experiencing a few different neck/head injuries over the last decade I sought out answers for so many horrible symptoms I had been having. I was told by my neurologist, orthopedic surgeon and neurosurgeon that I am "disabled". This was a label I initially rejected, despite having the images of the MRI's & the constant, chronic pain and associated symptoms to remind me that it is in fact my reality.

Unfortunately during the first week of May my neck was injured yet again in a freak accident. I have been unable to work since then, having been a bartender & server by trade for the last 4 years. I am still unable to lift more than 5 pounds, one month out from that accident. Unfortunately my insurance only covers 4 sessions of physical therapy, so this healing process is slow. I am now facing homelessness in less than 30 days. I am experiencing food insecurity and am unable to meet my basic needs at this point.

Securing disability income through SSI is a long process that often requires litigation to be approved. I have just begun this process.

I am making this GoFundMe to see if I can receive any assistance from kind strangers while seeking a new source of income that meets my physical disability accomodations. I would love to avoid living outside/in my car during the hot summer, especially because I can't fathom my spine even being able to handle sleeping in a car with the conditions I have.
