After this discovery there was a whirlwind of tests as the doctors sought to diagnose Emma's condition. They discovered that she had cancerous cells in her lymph nodes and kidneys in addition to the mass in her chest, and were finally able to diagnose her with Type T-cell Lymphobastic Lymphoma. Emma took the news in stride, knowing instinctively that she had the strength to beat it. Rather than be defeated by the news, she has viewed it as a challenge to overcome. She even had the idea to donate her hair before it could fall out! At 9 years old, Emma has shown a resolve that most adults would be unable to match.
We are at the start of this battle. Emma will be receiving chemotherapy treatments once a week, regular spinal taps and possibly blood transfusions. It will be a tough fight, but the good news is that this type of cancer is very treatable and there is a high chance that Emma will make a full recovery.
Any donations that could help support her medical bills would be a huge asset to this fight. Emma's mom said she wished she could reach inside her and pull the cancer out. It's a feeling her friends and family all share. We can't fight this fight for Emma, but we can give her our support. Any monetary donations will go towards paying her medical bills, and we will be eternally grateful for any contributions. If you are unable to make a donation, please help by sharing this GoFundMe page; we appreciate all efforts to raise awareness about Emma's cause.
Let's help Emma Rose grow strong!
Thank you, and God bless.
Heather Oberlohr and Josh Pullam send their sincerest thanks!
