Send Emma to Austria to perform with WYWOP!

Hi friends!

For people who don't me very well, I'm 22 years old and studying for my Bachelor of Music at the University of British Columbia. I've been working two jobs aswell as taking out student loans to make sure I could pay for schooling and rent. I am barely getting by.

I was looking for ways to perform and keep up my music over the summer and initially audition and got accepted into the Ceremonial Guard in Ottawa for the summer. It was an incredible opportunity but unfortunately was canceled due to covid. In an attempt to find other things, I was researching and found the World Youth Wind Orchestra. It's an international orchestra that performs in Austria every year. Sounded absolutely crazy to even try for but I auditioned on a whim and this morning I found out I was accepted!

What I didn't anticipate was the financial cost of doing this. Between my flights to Austria and back, the performance fee, and all my accommodations, I've definitely bit off way more than I can chew. But... this is an opportunity I cannot imagine passing up. To fly across the world and get to play saxophone with other musicians from all around the world would be incredible and I'm so fortunate to have even been accepted.

I made this go fund me not with the expectation that people would want to give lots. This is just in hopes that if anyone was willing to contribute in any way, it would mean the world. I plan on documenting my whole experience and making sure I get recordings of the concert to show everyone :)
