Help Emma on her journey to Buddhist Ordination in Spain
Donation protected
Hi folks,
As many of you will know I have been training for ordination in the Buddhist Triratna Order for the last 10 years. This has involved lots of study, retreats and was part of the motivation to work for the Sheffield Buddhist Centre for the last couple of years to support my practice. I was delighted to receive my letter in November inviting me on the ordination retreat in April 2025.
The next phase of my training involves a retreat in the Spanish mountains for 11 weeks where, all being well, I will be ordained into the Tritratna Order. At Akashavana the facilities are simple and off grid in keeping with the practice of going forth. This includes using rain and spring water and solar generated energy. You can find out more here: https://akashavana.org/
I have already been in the receipt of so much generosity of time, money and love from inside and outside the Buddhist community to get to this point. I am so grateful for all that I have received. The training process has enabled me to make wiser and kinder choices in my life and be of better service to others. My aspiration for my ordained life is to continue to work towards being wiser and kinder, and to be able to serve others in finding and living by what is highest.
I would really appreciate any support you can offer to enable me to participate in the ordination retreat in Spain. In the last few years I have made the conscious choice to work for Sheffield Buddhist Centre and other low paying ethical employers to support my practice and so that I had the time to be of service to friends and family who have needed me in the last couple of years. This means that I do not have the savings to cover the cost of this retreat. The amount is to cover all travel costs, the retreat itself and other essentials like insurance. It also includes £500 to cover the retreat and travel costs of Satyajyoti my good friend who will be my private preceptor in this process.
Anything you can offer, however small, including good vibes (!) is really appreciated.
Love
Emma
