Help Emma go to the World Fencing Championships!!

My name is Emma Mitzova and I’m a 15-year-old international fencer from London. 3 years ago, I tried out fencing at Salle Paul fencing club in Hendon, which just happens to be really close to where I live. I took to the sport quickly and was encouraged by my coaches to compete not long after starting (I even won a bronze medal at my first ever competition!). 

With the support of my club, my parents and lots of hard work, I managed to climb the rankings to be able to compete internationally for GBR in my first season despite coming to the sport much later than most! Last year was my best season ever in the U17 category, finishing in 5th on the rankings! Narrowly missing out on qualifying for the European Championships (Top 4) & World Championships (Top 3).

The international circuit of competitions are held from September right the way through until the European championships in February and World championships in April (This season will be in Wuxi, China).

I fenced really well last season but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend all of the qualifying events and my ranking dropped. All the while balancing this with school, I’m currently studying for my GCSEs trying my best to fit in all the training needed. In my free time with the support of my club, I have become a qualified referee, and any weekend I’m not competing or studying, I’ll be reffing to earn money for the upcoming season!

The upcoming season is my final season of being the U17 category and my goal is to qualify and compete in the European Championships and World Championships. I am starting the season in 1st place in the rankings and I am asking for help in supporting my journey in covering the costs of competing. The qualifying tournaments are close by in Europe, and even a small donation can help with the costs as the trips are currently self-funded. Any donations would help me in attending the international circuit and boosting my position in both the UK and European rankings! Even sharing my social media or sharing this page would help a lot!

Each international costs around £750-1000.

Copenhagen: £1,109.28

Bratislava: £898.67
