Help Emma fundraise for dance opportunities!

Hello! My name is Kirsten, and I have set up this fundraiser for my daughter Emma Kowalchuk. Emma is an aspiring dancer! This August, she will be travelling to Zürich for a fantastic dance opportunity at ART of. Ideally, Emma would love to stay in Europe for a while longer after her dance intensive for a little audition tour. She will need funds for food, housing and tuition expenses. Emma would also love to continue training in July. Ideally, travelling outside her home city of Calgary would gain her some valuable connections and experiences to reach her ultimate goal of dancing professionally. Also, adding some more outstanding teachers to her dance resumé cannot hurt!

 

Emma is the hardest working person I have ever met in my life. I don't think I've ever met anyone with such grit and determination. She has been told numerous times in her life that dance is not an achievable goal, only 2% of dancers "make it" in the classical ballet world, and since she is so book smart, why doesn't she choose something more stable? And yet she continues to dream big and chooses to follow her passion for ballet no matter what. She knows there is a good chance she will never achieve her ultimate goal, but she continually states that she never wants to have any regrets......that she wants to look back on this time knowing that she gave it her all and did everything she possibly could have done to achieve her dream.  Emma works hard at three jobs 6-7 days a week on top of dancing 40+hours per week!  And saves every penny to go towards her dance goals!

 

Her dad and I have helped her along the way financially as much as possible. We would hate to see her come so close to her final goals just to have finances be the thing that stops her. We continue to help her as much as possible, but our funds only stretch so far! We know Emma would appreciate every donation, even $10 would help her purchase one meal while in Zürich, and every donation would help ease a bit of her stress.
