My name is Emma Robinson, I am a senior at Georgia Southern University, and I study geology. One very important class you need to be a good geologist is called field camp. Field camp is usually a summer course where you can apply all the knowledge you have learned in the classroom by going out into nature and studying different structures, rock types, minerals, etc. for six weeks. Unfortunately, not every University offers a field camp course but still requires it for graduation. However, I am very grateful to say I have been accepted into The University of Arizona’s field camp and will be attending this summer, June-July 2026. Since it is a longer course and I will be camping for the entire duration, the cost is more on the expensive side. The estimated cost of the course is $5,600 which includes tuition, food, and travel expenses during the course. I do however also need to fly out to Arizona, so a flight there in back can total to be around $800. This is an amazing experience that will make me a great geologist, I just need a little help getting there.
Any amount is appreciated, even if you are unable to contribute money, sharing this with your family and friends can get me one step closer to my goal! Thank you for anything you can do!
