Hi, my sister Emma is a caring Physiotherapist who works with animals, children and the disabled. Her job is physical and she travels to people's homes, doing physiotherapy on beloved pets to help them walk again after major surgery, helping children and the disabled gain better mobility and improving their quality of life.
Unfortunately, she recently had an accident at home. The top step on the first floor gave way when she stepped on it, and she fell through the stairs. She was injured during the fall and as a result, she now needs to have spinal surgery on her neck. She has been suffering with severe nerve pain in her arms since the fall, and her arms are growing weaker. As a Physiotherapist, Emma's job is physical, and the injury is making it painful to do her job. Without the surgery, she will gradually lose use of arms which will be permanent.
Emma needs the surgery urgently, but does not have the funds to pay for this privately, or insurance. It will take too long in the public system to wait for the surgery, by which time more damage will be caused to her nerves. She needs help with money not only for the surgery, but for the lost income while she cannot work both before and after the surgery. She works for herself and does not have paid sick leave, and while she is recovering from surgery she will be making no income.
Please help Emma get through this difficult time that has been inflicted upon her, and get back to helping animals, children and disabled people in the community. Any donation, no matter how small, will help her and will be much appreciated.
