Help Emma and Nick Save Their Dog's Life

Donation protected
Two years ago, my daughter Emma Demirjian and her boyfriend, Nicholas Betance, rescued a one-year-old pit who they named Hercules, from the Pasadena Humane Society.  Before they rescued him, Herc was used as a bait dog for dog fights!  SO SAD! Emma and Nick have provided him a loving home, and he is THE SWEETEST DOG in the Universe!  They are excellent doggy parents, and I'm proud of how responsible they've become. Herc thinks he is a lap dog, and every time I go to visit, he tries to sit on my lap. It's pretty funny. He also likes to give huge kisses, play fetch and tug-of-rope, and he is a great big brother to his sister, Winston Santiago, the family's cat.

Shortly after Nicholas and Emma adopted Herc, he became a legally certified emotional support dog for Nicholas. It has been a wonderful relationship.

Unfortunately, this past week, Hercules started having trouble with his tail, and he would develop sores that would break open and bleed.  After several visits to the vet, it was determined that Herc's tail is dead, and there is no blood flow.  He needs life-saving surgery to amputate the tail within the next five to seven days!

Emma and Nicholas are great young adults.  They are in their very early twenties and live in their own apartment. They have been hit hard by the pandemic, and both have spent most of the year out of work.  They struggle to pay their basic expenses and don't have the $3,000 needed for this surgery and animal hospital recovery time.  Their only other option is to put him down, which they do not want to do.  There have been lots of tears and several broken hearts tonight.

I know that times are difficult for everyone and that the pandemic has affected so many. Starting this Go-Fund-Me page is the last chance Emma and Nick have to save their beloved dog. They would both be very grateful to you for any donation you could make. Even $5 would help.

Thank you very much for listening, and even if you can't donate, please send good healing vibes their way.  Hercules, Emma, and Nick need a Christmas miracle.

Note: I am Emma Demirjian's mother.  I intend to withdraw the funds and deliver them to the beneficiary by paying the veterinarian and animal hospital directly.  This will be done the week of December 21 - 25.
