Emily is improving weekly! She is having physical therapy in Corvallis. She is starting to stand up for several seconds and to take a few shaky steps. Yay Emily! She is walking in the underwater treadmill at the PT office.

Please help our sweet little dog.

My name is Linda and we need help for our dog.

Our sweet little dachshund has had emergency spinal surgery and now we have a huge bill to pay.

We recently took our dog to an out-of-town appointment and went to have a snack outside at a restaurant. The server did not see her between us on the ground and kicked her accidentally while passing by. That day she seemed OK, the next day a little slow, the 3rd day her rear end was paralyzed. We went to the vet for x-rays where they gave us medication and saw nothing was broken. She did not improve and we were able to contact the regular vet we usually see in the same office. He sent us immediately to the emergency veterinary hospital 2 ½ hours away for an MRI & emergency surgery. It has been almost 2 weeks since her surgery and she is starting to show some small signs of improvement. We are hopeful she will recover and regain function of her legs and bodily functions.

But now we have a huge bill to pay off, so far $11,960 and growing. (We didn’t know it was going to cost so much). She has a re-check coming up at the emergency hospital and after her incision heals, she will need doggie physical therapy. If she does not regain function, she will need a little cart to move around on outside.

We love our little girl, Emily, and couldn’t have her euthanized because of an accident. She is in good spirits and the little improvements give us hope for her future. We are both retired and really need help with paying off this growing bill. Can you or anyone you know please help us and our little dog?
