Last March I started helping Emily Walton care for her community cat colonies in PennNorth (West Baltimore). I’ve gotten to know Emily very well this past year, and I can say with 100% certainty that she is one of kindest, most genuine people that I’ve ever met.

Emily’s longtime dream has been to register as a 501.C.3, as it would allow her to apply for grants, receive veterinary discounts, and expand her fundraising abilities so that she can continue to care for the community cats who would otherwise be forgotten. But being a cat colony caretaker is expensive, and even with generous donations from the community, each week Emily ends up spending a LOT of her own money on food, medical care, and medications for the 20+ colonies that she cares for.

We’ve talked with several folks who already have their 501c3 and the process costs between $1,000-2,000 which includes hiring a lawyer to do the post work, start-up fees and cost to get a PO Box.

There is not one thing alive on this Earth that Emily wouldn't try to help. That’s just who she is. If YOU can help her, even in the smallest amount, please please please do.
