My cat, Derpy, my wife and I rescued her and her sister nearly 8 years ago, when they were 5 days old, eyes still closed, umbilical cords still attached. We're the only moms she's known, and she and her sister changed our lives in such a manner that we can't let go yet, unless its for her peace.
Our vet estimates the final bill will be in the realm of $7,500. Becauae of covid, that's just way beyond us right now unless we sell my car.
If I have to sell it, so be it. My cat is worth more to me
Reddit thinks I am being very dumb though to turn down offers of help. And if I can raise part of the total bill through crowd funding, I'm hoping I can work something out.
update! We got a diagnosis and we're going to be able to mostly treat from home. Total cost looks like it will be about $5,000, including follow up care.
