Help Emily Remember Beloved Blue
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, community,
My friend and partner Emily tragically lost her dog and life companion Blue after he was accidentally struck by a car, and I am asking for your help to ensure she can get the support she needs.
Emily rescued Blue in the summer of 2022 when she was looking for a best friend and a trusty companion to help her meet daily needs and support her well-being overall. Their bond was truly incredible, as Blue was not only a support animal for Emily, but a cherished family member and essential part of her daily life. He really became her whole world, just as she became his, and losing him in this way has been very traumatic and difficult.
For context, I met Blue and Emily in 2022, and ever since then I knew we would remain close friends. I especially bonded with Blue when I would take care of him during long class days for Emily. I immediately fell in love with them both and Blue's kind, quirky, and gentle soul - they were truly a perfect match for each other.
Within the last year, I've had the amazing privilege of being Emily’s friend and partner and getting to know each other through many stages of life. I have grown to deeply admire, respect and love Emily for all the ways she navigates the unknown with grace, puts others needs before her own, cares for the well-being of all animals, and finds a way to bring the light out in almost any scenario.
It’s hard to ask for help, but we could really use support in this time of loss and overwhelm. I am humbly asking if you’re reading this if you can contribute any amount to help cover the costs of things such as veterinary bills, insurance claims, short and long-term mental health support, or even support for meals, so we can have the proper time and space to grieve this traumatic loss.
We are both deeply grieving the sudden and unexpected loss of Blue, but any amount you can contribute to our fundraiser helps, as we try to manage everything on the cusp of Emily’s move back to California to finish her degree at Cal Poly Humboldt.
Emily deserves the world, and while I am going to be by her side the entire time, I also want her to know how much others love and care for her too. If you don’t know Em, but you know and care about me, it would mean the world if we could help eliminate some, if not all, of this financial stress so she can have the necessary time to grieve and process this loss.
I am so thankful for anyone who has taken the time to read this, and we appreciate your support. ❤️
P.S. While we encourage messages of love and support, we also kindly ask that you respect our privacy throughout the entire healing process. We know there are many ways to show support, and we appreciate any and all of it, but for now this is the best way to support us in the short and long term. Thank you thank you thank you.
