Help Emily Rebuild After Devastating House Fire & ICU Stay

On May 22nd, our dear friend Emily Angevine—an ICU nurse, devoted animal lover and rescuer, and pillar of her community—experienced the unimaginable. A fire engulfed her home, destroying everything she owned. Tragically, some of her beloved pets perished in the fire, while others are missing or recovering with the help of kind friends.

Emily, who has dedicated her life to caring for others in their most critical moments, now finds herself in need of that same compassion and support. During the fire, Emily suffered severe smoke inhalation and was placed on a ventilator. She spent several days in the ICU—this time as a patient. She is now recovering, but her road ahead is long.

Emily had been tirelessly remodeling her family home over the past year while commuting to her job in California as an ICU nurse. That home—and everything in it—is now gone. Her boyfriend and his young son, who also lived there, lost everything too.

What Emily Has Lost:

• Several of her cherished pets

• Her ability to work while recovering

• Peace of mind and stability

What She Needs:

We are hoping to raise $9,000 to help Emily cover:

• Medical bills from her ICU hospitalization

• Basic living expenses while insurance claims are being processed and she searches for new housing

• Emergency pet care and eventual reunification with her surviving animals

Emily and her family are currently staying with loved ones, and she’s deeply grateful to those who are sheltering her surviving pets. She dreams of the day she can bring them home again—wherever that new home may be—and begin rebuilding her life.

Despite the devastation, Emily remains hopeful and full of gratitude. She has shown so much strength in the face of heartbreak, and now it’s our turn to give back to someone who has given so much of herself to others.
