Emily, my niece, has faced unimaginable hardship in the past few weeks. Living in Waialua on the North Shore of Oahu, she lost nearly everything in the devastating flood that swept through her home. Just as she began the difficult process of cleaning up and trying to recover, another flood has been threatening since last night, stalling any progress she has made. The damage has been overwhelming—her furniture is ruined, her appliances are gone, and she’s lost precious personal treasures, including photographs and mementos of her late husband, who passed away from ALS not long ago.
Emily is now left with almost nothing in her rented house. She needs to replace furniture, appliances, clothes, blankets, towels, and even basic toiletries. The emotional and financial toll is immense, and she simply doesn’t have the means to rebuild her life on her own. As her aunt, I am reaching out to our community in hopes that we can come together to help Emily feel at home again and give her a sense of stability after so much loss.
Her family and I would be so appreciative of any contribution, no matter the size. Your support will help Emily replace the essentials she’s lost and begin to heal from this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for considering a donation to help her get back on her feet.
