My name is Emily, and I'm reaching out because I'm facing a tough situation. A few weeks ago, the engine in my only vehicle gave out, leaving me without transportation. I recently started a new job, and without a way to get there, I'm at risk of losing the only income I have coming into my household. My husband is currently incarcerated, so it's just me supporting myself right now.
I've explored every option I can think of—I've applied for personal loans, and I've asked family members for help, but nothing has worked out. I need to either buy an inexpensive replacement vehicle that doesn't need repairs, or purchase a used motor with lower miles and pay an auto shop to install it. Unfortunately, both options are out of reach for me financially at this time.
In addition to needing my vehicle for work, I also transport dogs for rescues on the side. I pick up dogs from shelters and take them to where they need to go, sometimes traveling from the High Desert to San Diego and everywhere in between. One of the rescues I work with is based out of Hawaii, and while they have a few other drivers in my area, my vehicle can fit more dogs, which means more lives saved. When I'm able to help, the rescue can get more dogs out of the shelter system, freeing up space for others in need.
Having reliable transportation is absolutely essential for me to keep my job, maintain some stability, and continue helping rescue animals during this difficult period. I'm doing everything I can to stay afloat, but I can't do it alone. If you're able to help, your support would mean the world to me and would make a real difference in my life—and in the lives of the dogs I help. Thank you so much for considering a donation and for helping me get back on the road.
